Well, I'm pleased to say that I stopped taking the tablets just after Christmas and so far, so good. There isn't any regrowth of the fungus, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way.
The actual nail is still not right. When I clip them they are still quite brittle but I assume that's just the last bits coming off and they will soon be back to normal.
That's it for now, and hopefully I won't be back!
Will add a picture when I get a chance.

Update picture
Been on the tablets a while now and so far so good.
I've had nail varnish on until recently as I didn't want to see the slow progress, so the other night Rob took the varnish off and gave me a foot rub.
I was really surprised by the results!
I'll keep going until Christmas to make sure it has all gone. My feet haven't looked like this in 8 years!

Rubbish!
Nothing to report. No side effects that I know of and my nails look just the same. Rubbish!

Pains
Today I've been having some horrible pains on my right hand side just under my ribs. I thought it was a stitch at first as I had been rushing around trying to sort out my Mum's birthday cake surprise. But the pain hasn't gone all day, even after eating, which I didn't want to do at lunch time. Not sure if it is side effects or not but it's not pleasant.

Day Eight - Snap!
Slight development, one of my toe nails has come off. Well I say come off but actually I picked it and it snapped in half, so I cut it off with clippers. Yuck indeed.
I don't seem to be having any side effects from the tablets, well, not any that are noticeable which is good. A few months to go yet though.

Day One
Day one of trying to get rid of my nasty toe nail fungus that has plagued me since I spotted it while travelling in 2005.
I first noticed it when we were in Australia. We sought medical advice and I was given some stuff to paint onto my nails but I was told it probably wouldn't work, and it didn't, obviously.
Going to try to do before, during and after pictures. This is how they look now. Be warned, not nice.
Oh, forgot to mention that it spread to my other foot!
I know it seems rather strange keeping a diary about this but I've had to put up with nasty looking toe nails for a long time now and it has been, and still is, rather embarrassing and I hate getting my feet out because of it.
The treatment is just taking a tablet each day but it can have horrid and even dangerous side effects. You can't take it while pregnant or breastfeeding, which is why I've had to wait until now. I'm pretty nervous about taking it but it is something I want to do.
About 20 minutes after taking the first tablet my ears were really really hot and I felt bloated. I think I'm just going to read into every single thing from now on. Fingers crossed it works and Rob has said he will treat me to a pedicure at the end. Looking forward to that.
